Somewhere along the way, GM decided that the most important part of the rear power vent window should also be the weakest.

This little linkage arm connects the power window actuator to the rear vent glass. The motor is still available. The arm? GM quit making it years ago.

To make matters worse, if you’ve ever tried removing the original, you already know the story. The factory part is so thin and brittle that it usually breaks during disassembly, turning a simple repair into a hunt through junkyards and online classifieds hoping someone has a used one that hasn’t already failed.

That’s where Backwoods Fabrications comes in.

We started by keeping the factory geometry so it installs and operates exactly like the original. Then we fixed what GM should have done in the first place.

Our linkage arm is manufactured from UV-resistant engineering-grade material and reinforced in the areas where the factory design commonly fails. The result is a stronger, longer-lasting replacement that can be removed and reinstalled multiple times without becoming another broken piece of unobtainium.

This wasn’t designed to be “close enough.” It was designed to be the last one you need.
